Born in 1962, Kadir Aktay graduated at Ankara University Communication Faculty.
He has worked as a photographer in the news section of Newsport, Huerriyet, Guenes, Sabah, Aksam, Evrensel and the magazines Panorama, Turkuaz and Aktuel.
He was photography director for MTV production, 18 parts of documentary film Old Houses Old Masters.
Asomedya, Ipekyolu, Golf in Turkey, Skylife, Petrogaz, Para, Power, House Beautiful, Capital, Mydonose, Globus, Bodrum Life etc. are some of the magazines in which he is publishing as a freelance photographer.
Kadir Aktay is doing his artistic works in "Fotografevi"-Studio, founded by him together with two friends.
Still he is working on commercial photography for the big advertising agencies.
Since he started with professional photography in 1981, he was honored by many national and international awards.
He is member of Photo Reporters Association (FMD), Photography Art Institution (FSK) and held two exhibitions called Dreams of Past Times and Child Faces of Quake.
Kadir Aktay has prepared slide shows named Dreams of Past Times, Interview People, Faces of Quake, Pinhole.
He performed the slide shows "Double Fantasy" and "There is rain in Istambul this morning" with Alper Fidaner, and he is also the founder of asaPRESS a world wide photo press agency (www.asapress.com).
